01/10/2008 - Ver 1.5.7, Minor software updates

Version 1.6 of the message station software has today been released and includes some minor updates to a few bugs reported by some users. Current users please download the demo and install over the top of your current version. Licence keys will be automatically transferred.

Message Station draws the crowds at Northallerton Culture Shock Festival 2008

Culture Shock was a 12 hour rock festival, held in early July in Northallerton featuring bands such as Utah Saints & Boy Kill Boy.

Organiser Matt Burrows of “Connecting Youth Culture”at North Yorkshire Council chose a text-to-screen solution from Splitting Pixels to provide entertainment during the intervals between bands.

Matt had original considered “trying to hook up a mobile phone and SIM card combination” but quickly realised the benefits that the Message Station solution had to offer.

Not only did Message Station provide entertainment during the day - but provided the organiseres with the mobile phone numbers of all 1,200 partipants - allowing the Youth Culture department to keep users up to date with future events and festivals.

The new ver 1.5 of our software now supports the automatic uploading of contacts and messages into the online contact management system. You can login to Contact Manager from any PC with an internet connection, send back promotional messages to your customers, as well as view the details of SMS messages which have been sent in to the system.

Bug fixes:

MPG videos in the slideshow now play in their entirety.

14/03/2008 - Ver 1.4, AutoCycle & Backgrounds

All systems have now been updated with the new Ver 1.4 software.

The new features introudced in Ver 1.4 are-

Autocycle, now allows the system to automatically cycle between slideshow and chatroom at a specified interval (default 60 secs).
Background, The chatroom now has a customisable background, just edit background.jpg found in the programme root folder.
